Summary:
Host nutrition plays a crucial role in the outcome of the interaction between plants
and pathogens. Though resistance and susceptibility are controlled genetically, a
minor change in the nutritional status of the plants can have a considerable effect on
severity of the disease. All the essential nutrients can affect the disease severity.
However, there is no general rule as a particular nutrient can decrease the severity of
a disease while it can increase the severity of another disease or it can have
completely opposite effect in different environments.Several research results have
reported that high dose of nitrogen increases susceptibility of plants to different
diseases while K tends to reduce the intensity of the disease. Plants come in frequent
contact with potential pathogens. From the beginning of agriculture, farmers have
been practicing different approaches for combating plant diseases. Diseases can be
caused by a variety of plant pathogens including fungi, others and their management
requires the use of techniques This book entitled “Mineral Nutrition and Plant
Disease Management” elaborates the key recent approaches to manage different
pathogens within the context of recent developments. The has been written by
considering the recent advance strategies for the management of different plant
diseases. It presents the information on the management of plant diseases through
principles and practices employed in present scenario to mitigate the recent threat to
the crops. There is also considered on balancing the all approaches as integrated
disease management strategies for different crops and cropping systems. This book
has been written to cater to the needs of young students and researchers and also
field workers requiring special introduction to recent advances in plant disease
management.Number Of Quantity:
