Summary:
Problem soil is the one which hinders or interfere directly or indirectly with growth of
crop and reduce the yield of crop. Salinity problems are caused from the
accumulation of soluble salts in the root zone. The problems of soil salinity are most
widespread in the arid and semi-arid regions but salt affected soils also occur
extensively in sub-humid and humid climates, particularly in the coastal regions
where the ingress of sea water through estuaries and rivers and through groundwater
causes large-scale Stalinization. Similarly in humid to sub –humid regions, one will
find due to loss of basic cations, acidity develops in the soil. Such areas, encounter
widespread, soil acidity related infertility syndrome. Then , in acutely acidic or very
